W.H.M.I.S. 2015 Awareness
WHMIS is short form for Workplace Hazardous Information System.
It is a comprehensive plan for providing information on the safe use of hazardous materials in Canadian Workplaces.
Information is provided by means of product labels, safety data sheets (SDS) and worker education programs.
Understanding WHMIS can reduce the risk of work place injuries.
Sending workers into the classroom for training means time off the job site, less production, and a higher cost to companies.
With online training, workers can prevent injuries on the job, learn at their own pace, review material more than once to refresh learning and a shorter training time is required (no lunch breaks, etc.)
